Journaling for Success!!

Today I’m so excited to share with you all one of popular and also my favorite subjects, Journaling. I have personally use journal which not only helped me to keep track of things but also helped me in pursuit of other life goals as well.

Today I’m going to talk about why you should keep a journal and what kind of things you can write in a journal.

Many well-known speakers and authors consider journaling to be ‘the best hidden secret to success.’ Why? Here are 5 reasons as to how journaling so powerfully meets our needs.

  • Writing in a Journal creates clarity of the mind
Do you ever seem all jumbled up inside, unsure of what you want or feel? Taking a few minutes to jot down your thoughts will quickly get you in touch with your inner peace. When you put your thoughts out on paper, you subconsciously untangle your web of thoughts. A clear head can make better decisions, is less-stressed out, and is happier overall. By writing routinely you will get to know what makes you feel happy and confident.
  • Writing in a Journal allows you to record your daily progress
Often we think we are spinning our wheels, when we may in fact be accomplishing many things, but simply losing track of them. Daily journaling provides the data to show how you make significant progress from many small steps.
  • Your Journal is a Gift to Your Future Self
There’s nothing more enlightening than reading through several of your own journal entries.Keeping a journal today means you can look back in five years or ten years at what you were thinking about, dreaming of, hoping for … it’s the closest you can get to time-travelling back to meet a past version of yourself.

Now, moving on to What kinds of things you can write in a journal? Here are few things which I have in my journal which I want to share with you:

  • The New Idea I had today / The New thing I learned today…
Every single day is a platform for learning more. If we just had a new idea or learn something new but don’t write it, we simply lose it. So consider writing new ideas/ daily learnings in journal that will help increase awareness.
  • The Goal I set to Achieve / The things I did to achieve my Goal…
Writing out our goals provides the opportunity to express them clearly and makes their achievement appear closer. Whether you are chasing a physical goal running a marathon or a simple personal goal of getting up early every day consider journaling the details of your goal. Having a daily goal, and recording it, is an excellent way to measure success. It’s easier to reach your goals when they’re written down and you can check them off as you go.
  • Things that made me feel happy today…(Counting your blessings)
They don’t have to be big things – something as simple as “I saw a beautiful sunset” or “I left work on time” or “I listened to my favorite song or watched favorite show is fine.
  • One Good Deed I did today…(Random act of kindness)
It can be as simple as making somebody’s day better or how you remembered to call your grandma last week or how you held the door for someone whose hands were full. With journaling, we can appreciate even the tiniest of success in life. And these are things that really matter, as they happen on a day-to-day basis.
  • Things I am thankful for today…(An attitude of gratitude)
Writing in a journal is a great way to record gratitude. Giving thanks for who we are and what we have heighten our blessings and the good things in life. Practicing gratitude makes us happier! And it feeds internal energy giving us a lasting sense of contentment.

Here are few Closing thoughts I want to share with you:
No novels. No big long journal entries. Just few sentences a day. Use journal to record your daily reflections. As the pages fill, you’ll discover happy coincidences and relive forgotten moments, adding unexpected joy to all your days. This daily ritual is highly do-able and provides a striking sense of accomplishment, and as the months go by you can see how your entries evolve.

Journaling is an activity that reveals more about us than any other one can; nothing else can help us develop with such pinpoint accuracy. This is because the lessons we extract from it are from our personal experiences. Our wins, our losses, both are loaded with lessons fine-tuned for our development; we just need to find them, and that’s exactly what journaling is for.

Your journal will become a treasure for you and your family for years to come! Wish you a successful and glorious Happy New Year!!
