District 18 Toastmasters
Thank you for presenting at the District 18 Mastery Monday Event this past Monday. It was really an informative and inspirational presentation!
Spring 2021 Conference Committee
We had to select among the 65 Session proposals by 51 international speakers, which were all of an excellent level and high interest. Proposals were selected in a review process by representative evaluators and content referees from all the Divisions in our District, headed by the Conference organizing-committee. This was done with the help of the “Sessionize” evaluation process, which follows a well-established scientific process of evaluation (the Elo rating system). The general criteria of selection while reading through the proposals were relevant to a) the topic (originality, divergent idea, or approach, appropriateness, fitting into the conference theme and Toastmasters core values) and b) the person (expertise on the topic, experience in workshops and in English speaking, and current status). Our aim was to encourage inclusiveness, a balance between representatives from all TM Divisions and countries and to promote gender equality and “Divergent” thinking!
We are now particularly glad to inform you that we have decided to include your proposal in our thematic sessions. You are one of the applicants selected to present in the sessions of this year’s virtual educational cruise.

I am sure you do not have time to read a book but a book would be the best way to give kudos to this individual from the day we met. Bindu was assigned as my mentee when she joined Airport Toastmasters. When she joined she was so quiet and shy that I thought I had my work cut out for me. After meeting with her with a one on one to show her how the Toastmaster Program worked and assuring her that if she followed the program she would gain confidence with her speaking and leadership skills. Over the next year and half she has become a force to be reckoned with. Not only did she take the program to heart and completed all levels to become distinguished toastmaster, she became an officer in the club for the last four years. She has conducted a Youth Leadership in Coppell which is the first ever. Her presentations to the club have grown with panache and confidence each time she gives one. She served as an Area Director and serving as Youth leadership Chair for district for this current term. She takes on tasks with a smile and a “Can Do” attitude. She looks at the bigger picture and injects new life into the club and into this tired old lady. She has given me new appreciation of looking toward our new members for continuation and strength. To say she is deserving of Toastmaster of the Year is an understatement.
